Test Match Summary- India vs Bangladesh

The first test between the two subcontinental teams was held in rain affected venue Chittagong. After winning the toss, Rahul Dravid decided to bat.Dravid shocked everyone by deciding to allow rookies Wasim Jaffer and Dinesh Karthick instead of first choice veterans Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. This showed as Jaffer was out for a duck off the first ball of the innings by Bangladesh’s best pacer Mashrafe Mortaza.Dravid and Karthick steadied the boat as both hit 50s before lunch. But their joy was short-lived as both the settled batsmen were out (Dravid 61, Karthick 56) Sachin and Sourav, the team’s best batsmen showed why they are the legends as they frustrated the bowlers by smashing the ball all around the park and the day ended with Ganguly on 82 and Sachin on 80.Day 2 started late and both the batsmen after hitting their 100s became out and India declared on 387.Rain affected day 3 as no play was possible.Bangladesh were all out for 233 as the pacers shared the meat amongst them. Mashrafe Mortaza played superbly for Bangladesh with a whirlwind 72. The pitch was now lively and India declared on 100 after 6 batsmen were out. The hosts manage themselves to a draw as Omar was not out on 54 as they finished at 104/2.
