Don't Let An iPod Kill You!

An apple a day, might keep the doctor away, but in the case of an i pod, you'll have to visit your doc more often.

Recent studies show that when an i pod is brought near a pacemaker (device for people with heart problems), the pacemaker detects rhythmic problems and malfunctions. Up to 3 different types of problems can occur, the most serious being the pacemaker not pacing the heart when needed.

It was a 17-year-old Michigan high school student named Jay Thaker who presented a paper on i pod and pacemaker interference to the 2007 annual meeting of the Heart Rhythm Society in Denver, Colorado. His study concluded that i pods caused various types of interference in pacemakers in 50 percent of the patients tested.

So, if your old, with a pacemaker inside and an i pod outside, we wish the very best for you !!
