My encounter with the Wii

I was excited when I went to the Sharaf DG showroom in City Centre Dubai. But I didn't expect to see all three next-gen consoles in the same room.

I saw an Arab man playing with the Wii and I asked him whether I could have it. At first he refused, telling me that it was just too cool! I was stunned. How could a 50 year old man be playing the Wii?

I waited impatiently waiting for my chance to play on the Wii. And atlast, I got my hands on the Wii remote. It was very solid, yet comfortable to hold. It had a few buttons, a D pad and a trigger. The controls for the menu were very easy, you just had to move the remote to the particular option and press A. I played Wii sports, which wasn't a graphically great game, but was very fun. It had a few sports- boxing, bowling, tennis, golf and baseball. The game was fun and the controls were really easy. But I was unlucky not to play the boxing game as Sharaf DG didn't provide me the Nunchuk as they had a few problems with it.

The only problem I encountered with the Wii was that after I played for about 20 minutes, my hands, my back and my shoulders were aching.
The price of the console(Dhs. 1700) is expensive, compared to a good XBOX 360 and an awesome PS3.
